Color Theory-Challenged Anon here again. What I meant to say was that I’ve read on color theory and I know about the complimentary colors, color wheel, color harmony, saturation, etc. I understand all of that, but I can’t seem to apply it for some reason. Any tips on how to make it work?
' o '!! Lets see… well it all comes down to practice and experimentation. You pick out colors, combine them, see what works, and somehow it develops into 'I know how to use colors!!'. I think this might help a little if you’re unsure of how to use pre-defined palettes. But, um, for creating your own palettes and utilizing them in your work… Try this out:

When picking colors to shade/highlight with, going directly to the left and/or right of the color wheel can give you good results. Because I used a red/red-violet, I went to the color on the left (blue/blue-violet) and used that to shade and highlight the dog c:
Remember: Experimentation is key! The more you play around with colors, the more you’ll understand how to use them. Hopefully that sort of helped ; o ;
